My Involvement: I founded and developed Product Igniter while consulting for a brand that needed to engage with their fans on social media. What started as a simple landing page for a single product launch campaign turned into a powerful platform for managing a brand’s social media engagement. We decided on the most relevant metrics for a brand owner to manage their social media campaigns and went to work with our friends at www.uxdoneright.com
to design the UX for the dashboard. After the UX plan was in place, I started on development and the application has blossomed into what you see today.For the technical folks… the dashboard uses javascript (coffeescript) heavily, updates in real-time, and talks to an internal JSON API served from a Rails backend.

Brand Case Study
Cellucor wanted to launch a new product in the competitive pre-workout category within the sports nutrition supplement industry. Unlike other companies, Cellucor did not want to follow the same pattern of other brands in the industry by constantly cutting big checks to traditional media “gatekeepers” to launch their product. So they decided to use Social Networking as a tool to drive viral exposure.
Cellucor was not active in any type of social media and did not have any kind of significant following whatsoever prior to implementation of their Product Igniter engagement application. Cellucor with the help of Product Igniter was able to accomplish the following in 60 days.

Converted a high cost Arnold Sports Festival trade expo into a profit driven sales channel that sold thousands of C4 Extreme units at the event, reached 600,000 social referral impression on Facebook and Twitter, and sold out of every C4 Extreme item at GNC in the Columbus Metro where the event took place in only 3 days.
8. Reached the top ranks in product category and top 20 overall product competing against 16,000 products on a 7 million consumer base on Bodybuilding.com.
